Heading back home

Missing it already

sunny 27 °C

Final day and trip back home. Good sleep then breakfeast. Packed up our stuff then waited for our driver. We both feel very chilled after this holiday. Not like other holidays when we try and fit in as much as possible this holiday was about recharging our batteries and that is what has happened. Bali is the ideal location for doing nothing or doing everything.
Trip to airport uneventful. Flight on time and a very quick 5 hours we were back in Brisbane. Got car and drove back to Hervey Bay. We like the drive after our trips as we unwind and gives us time to reflect on what we had just experienced. Great trip and look forward to heading back next year when we will br doibg a trip with friends. I have mentioned before that Bali is a great destination for australians to visit. Don't listen to the media and the naysayers experience it for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Last full day

Repeat of the day before

sunny 27 °C

Today was a repeat of the day before. Just had breakfeast, lunch and dinner at different places. Dinner was with family which was great. Excellent day and wish we could just keep on having a groundhog day. However, time to wind things up and head back home tomorrow.

Nearing the end

Great dinner with friends

sunny 27 °C

Nearing the end of our holiday. This has been a very very relaxing holiday. We have both slipped into this comfortable routine of waking up, breakfeast, have a wander, lunch, afternoon swim and some sun, couple of beers then dinner and a few more drinks, sleep. Repeat. If only this could be our life. Then reality sets in and you realise it will end soon and we go back to our home and work. Not that this is terrible just not as good as what we are doing now. As mentioned earlier our day consisted of all of the above with the exception of dinner which was with some friends who are in Ubud for a few days. Tomorrow is our last full day.

Hanging by the pool

Not much happening

sunny 30 °C

Today was a hot one. Could feel it from the time we got up. Decided to go slow. Went out for breakfeast then visited Bintang supermarket up the road and brought a few things. Nice to shop without bargaining all the time. The heat was very intense so we spent the afternoon hanging around the pool. The Gajah Biru has a good pool area and it was a nice afternoon. Didn't do much else except have dinner and turn in for an early night. We are both feeling very very relaxed at the moment.

Time to Cook

Cooking class in Ubud

overcast 27 °C

Today we did a cooking class in Ubud with Periuk Bali cooking. They picked us up in the morning and took us to a local market to check out the produce.

Then onto a rice field to show us the process of growing rice. Finally onto the cooking class where we were shown around the property of the people who run the classes. There was a group of 13 people and the instructors made us all chop, cut, pound, mix and cook 6 different dishes. We all had a great time and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. At the end we got to sit down and enjoy the fruits of our labour. Great fun.

The rest of the day was spent catching up with some friends then into town for some Japanese at Toki Sushi. Not bad and a good ending to the day.
